BMW oil change price in Dubai

Oil service starts from AED 350 for selected four cylinder engines. Your model year, engine, required BMW approval and oil quantity determine the fitted quote. Model badges can refer to different engines across generations. M models use the M starting price rather than the general cylinder category.

What is included
  • Fully synthetic oil with the BMW approval for your engine
  • New oil filter and seal
  • Oil level set using the applicable vehicle measurement procedure
  • Service reminder reset in the iDrive
  • Fitted price confirmed before work starts
Diesel, hybrid or not listed?

Diesel, plug in hybrid and other engines are quoted individually. Request the oil product, required approval, litres, filter choice, labour, any additional oil charge, VAT and final payable total before authorising work. These starting prices are not a fixed all-model or fixed-litre offer.

The correct specification

Which oil does your BMW need?

The right oil matches your engine, its required BMW approval and a permitted viscosity. A model badge or a fully synthetic label is not enough.

Start with your vehicle

One correct specification

Send the model year and engine details or VIN. We check the applicable vehicle guidance before selecting the oil.

EngineModel yearMarket
01

Match the BMW approval

Longlife 01, Longlife 04 and later fuel economy approvals serve different applications. A newer designation does not automatically suit an older engine.

02

Check the permitted viscosity

The product must carry the required approval and have a viscosity permitted for the vehicle. The viscosity on the bottle alone does not establish suitability.

03

Confirm the product and litres

Your written quote should identify the oil product, approval, required quantity and filter. M engines and engines with particulate filters need particular attention to fitment.

Electric or plug in hybrid?

A plug in hybrid with a combustion engine still needs engine oil maintenance. A fully electric BMW does not.

When to change

How often should you change BMW oil?

Follow the service display and maintenance guidance for your exact BMW. Many vehicles use Condition Based Service, or CBS, shown in iDrive or the instrument display. Older models may use a different service indicator. Our shorter interval below is a workshop recommendation for suitable driving conditions, not a universal BMW factory interval.

City useDiscuss our shorter intervalOther useMatch the vehicle scheduleService dueFollow the vehicle display
Our workshop recommendation For suitable cars used mainly in city traffic, discuss an oil service every 6 months or 5,000 to 7,000 km, whichever comes first. Confirm suitability for your engine and service plan.
Longer journeys and light use A different interval may suit the vehicle. Follow its maintenance guidance and do not exceed the applicable service reminder.

Choose your checks

Oil service and additional checks

The oil package covers approved oil, a new filter and seal, the correct level check and the completed oil-service reset. A visual observation is not a diagnostic test. Ask us to list any additional checks in your quote so you know what is included before the visit.

Leaks and oil consumption

Mention puddles, a burning smell or repeated top-ups when booking. Finding the cause can require cleaning, monitoring or separate diagnostic work.

Coolant and hoses

A visible leak or low coolant needs assessment. Pressure testing and cooling-system repairs are separate from an engine oil change.

Brakes and tyres

Our minor-service offer includes brake and tyre checks. Confirm whether these are included in your chosen visit rather than assuming they come with the oil-only price.

Battery testing

The minor-service offer includes a battery test. Request it explicitly if you are booking an oil-only visit.

Air and cabin filters

Replacement depends on the chosen package, vehicle requirements and condition. Ask which filters and parts are listed in the quote.

Diagnostic scan

A fault-code scan is not included merely because the oil reminder is reset. Codes guide further tests and do not by themselves identify a failed part.

Belts and accessible seals

Tell us about noises or visible damage. A basic look at accessible components does not replace dismantling or a dedicated inspection.

Extra work

Leak repairs, engine flushing, additives and other fluid services are not automatically part of the oil package. Any proposed work needs a separate agreed quotation.

Your driving pattern

Why Dubai heat is hard on BMW oil

Oil lubricates, carries contaminants to the filter and helps manage heat. Your journeys and vehicle condition matter alongside the outside temperature.

Heat and time

Oxidation changes the oil

Oxidation can increase viscosity during use. The correct oil specification and service interval help you manage maintenance for your engine.

Repeated short trips

Fuel and moisture can remain

Short runs may leave fuel and moisture in the oil. Fuel dilution can reduce viscosity, so used oil does not always become thicker.

Filtration and sealing

Keep contamination in check

Dust can enter when intake filtration or sealing is compromised. It should not be treated as an inevitable result of driving in Dubai.

Choose the interval for your BMW

Use the vehicle guidance, service history and actual driving pattern. Our shorter city-use recommendation is not a universal factory schedule.

Fresh oil is maintenance

It does not repair a worn timing chain, failed turbo or low-pressure fault. Report noises, warnings and repeated top-ups when booking.

Oil change or service

BMW oil change compared with a full service

An engine oil change completes one maintenance item. Minor and major are our workshop package names. The vehicle schedule, service history and condition determine what else is due. Fully electric vehicles need a different maintenance quote.

Starting prices are vehicle-dependent. Spark plugs apply to petrol engines. Filter and fluid replacement must be listed in the agreed package, not inferred from a generic check mark. Gearbox fluid, coolant flushes, AC regassing and repairs are separately quoted unless expressly included. Compare our BMW service packages.

Oil warnings

BMW oil warning messages explained

Many BMWs have no dipstick. The engine checks the oil electronically and shows the result in the iDrive. These are the messages you may see.

Red

Engine oil pressure

Stop as soon as it is safe and switch off the engine. Do not restart it to check. Call us and we arrange recovery, because driving on can destroy the engine within minutes.

Yellow

Engine oil level low

Use oil with the required BMW approval and add only the quantity specified by the vehicle message or owner manual. Follow the measurement procedure and avoid overfilling. If you top up often, there may be a leak or oil consumption that needs checking.

Service

Oil service due

The car has calculated that the oil needs changing. Book within the time shown, and do not let it go overdue, because the reminder already allows for the oil life.

For an electronic level check, follow the instructions for your exact vehicle. Depending on the system, measurement can require operating temperature, a running engine or drive-ready state, level ground and a specified gear position. Do not run an engine with an oil-pressure warning to obtain a reading. If measurement is unavailable, do not add oil by guesswork.

Avoid unnecessary trouble

Common BMW oil change mistakes

Small choices matter when selecting oil, topping up and deciding whether the car needs maintenance or diagnosis.

Illustration comparing an old and a new BMW oil filter
Oil and filter together

A fresh filter belongs in the service

A new filter and the correct seal are part of the oil package. The old filter is not a substitute for diagnosing an engine fault.

01

Buying by viscosity alone

Match both the required BMW approval and a permitted viscosity. Two oils labelled 5W30 may have different approvals.

02

Guessing the top-up quantity

Use the quantity in the vehicle message or manual and the specified measurement procedure. Avoid overfilling.

03

Using an unsuitable top-up oil

Check the approval required by your vehicle. If unsure, confirm the product before adding it.

04

Resetting before the work

Reset only the completed service item. A cleared reminder is not evidence that the oil or another due item was serviced.

05

Leaving a leak until service day

Arrange prompt inspection. Smoke, a strong burning smell or oil reaching hot parts means stop safely, switch off and seek assistance.

06

Treating pressure as a level check

With an oil-pressure warning, stop safely and switch off. Do not restart the engine just to obtain an oil-level reading.

Examples

What your written oil-service quote should show

A starting price helps you plan. An itemised quote confirms what your own BMW needs. Check these three parts of the quote before approving the work.

Your vehicle

Oil and fitment

  • Model year and engine or VIN
  • Oil product and required BMW approval
  • Permitted viscosity and required litres
Your package

Parts and labour

  • Genuine BMW or OEM filter identified
  • Required seals and drain-plug parts listed
  • Labour, level check and oil-service reset
Your total

Payable amount

  • Additional oil and optional checks itemised
  • VAT treatment and total shown explicitly
  • Pickup arrangements and turnaround confirmed

Oil capacity varies by engine. Do not assume a fixed five-litre allowance or a universal extra-litre charge. Request the complete fitted amount for your vehicle. Leaks, diagnostic tests and additional repairs need a separate agreed quote.

How it works

How your BMW oil change works

  1. 1

    Book

Send your model, year and mileage. We confirm the oil approval and the price.

  2. 2

    Pickup or drive in

Free pickup anywhere in Dubai, or bring the car to our Al Quoz workshop.

  3. 3

    Oil and filter

We drain the old oil, fit a new filter and seal, and fill with the approved oil.

  4. 4

    Reset and return

We set the level, reset the service reminder and bring the car back to you.

We confirm the workshop slot, required parts and expected completion time with the quote. Collection and delivery add travel time, and additional faults can change the plan. If you need the car back by a particular time, tell us before booking. Ask before the work starts if you want to see the removed filter.

Find your engine type

Oil service for BMW petrol, diesel and hybrid engines

From older E series cars to current G series and M models, the engine and model year determine the oil service.

Illustration of BMW vehicles in a workshop
Petrol and M

Match the exact engine

The same model badge can cover different engines across generations. Confirm the approval, viscosity and oil quantity for your vehicle, including M applications.

Diesel

Account for the particulate filter

Use the specified approval and compatible oil. A DPF assessment is separate diagnostic work, not an automatic part of an oil change.

Plug in hybrid

Time matters alongside mileage

Models such as the 330e, 530e and X5 45e still need engine oil maintenance. Follow the vehicle schedule even when much of your driving is electric.

Fully electric BMWs do not need an engine oil change. Request the maintenance appropriate to the vehicle instead.

Keep a clear BMW oil service record

Itemised invoice

Keep the service date, mileage, oil product, approval, quantity and filter details with your vehicle records.

Completed item only

The oil-service reset does not complete other CBS items. Brake fluid, vehicle checks and other due work remain separate.

Digital history

A dashboard reset is not the same as an entry in BMW digital service history. Confirm any digital-record requirement before booking.

Warranty and plans

Check your manufacturer warranty or service-plan conditions and required records. Ask for any workshop workmanship terms in writing.

For model-specific instructions, use your owner manual. BMW explains the operating conditions for supported electronic systems in its oil-level measurement guidance. The procedure and menus can differ for your vehicle.

How much is a BMW oil change in Dubai?

Starting prices are AED 350 for selected four cylinder engines, AED 450 for six cylinder engines, AED 650 for V8 engines and AED 750 for M cars. The final fitted quote depends on the exact engine, oil approval and litres. Request the VAT treatment and total payable before booking.

What is included in the oil-service price?

The oil package includes oil with the required BMW approval, a new filter and seal, the applicable level check and the completed oil-service reset. Confirm the product, litres, filter choice and labour in your fitted quote. Diagnostic scans, leak repairs and other maintenance are separate unless expressly included.

Does the starting price include VAT and extra oil?

Do not treat the starting price as a confirmed total for your vehicle. Request an itemised quote showing the required litres, any additional oil charge, VAT and final payable amount before authorising work.

How often should I change the oil in my BMW?

Follow the applicable vehicle maintenance schedule and service display. Our shorter interval of 6 months or 5,000 to 7,000 km, whichever comes first, is a workshop recommendation for suitable city use, not a universal BMW factory interval. Confirm it for your engine and service plan.

Which oil do you use?

We select fully synthetic oil carrying the approval required for the exact engine and market, with a permitted viscosity. The VIN and vehicle guidance determine the choice. Ask for the oil product and approval to be written on the quote and invoice.

Can I use any 5W30 oil in my BMW?

No. Both the required approval and a permitted viscosity must match your vehicle. Fully synthetic wording or 5W30 on the label alone does not establish suitability.

Does resetting CBS update BMW digital service history?

No. Resetting the completed oil-service reminder and updating a digital service-history record are different operations. Confirm any digital-history requirement and availability before booking, and keep the itemised invoice.

How long does a BMW oil change take?

We confirm expected completion time with your quote after checking the booking slot, parts and vehicle requirements. Pickup and delivery add travel time. Additional faults can extend the visit, so tell us about any return deadline before booking.

My BMW has no dipstick. How do I check the oil?

Follow the owner manual or vehicle instructions for the exact electronic system. Measurement can require operating temperature, a running engine or drive-ready state, level ground and a specified gear position. Never run an engine with an oil-pressure warning just to check the level.

What if the electronic oil measurement is unavailable?

Check the required measurement conditions in the vehicle instructions. Do not add a guessed quantity. If the system remains unavailable or warnings recur, arrange assessment. An oil-pressure warning requires stopping safely and switching off, not another measurement attempt.

Is an oil change the same as a full BMW service?

An oil change completes the engine oil and filter item. Our minor and major packages add specified maintenance and checks. The engine, service history and due items determine the agreed work. Gearbox oil and other fluid services are not automatically included.

Do you offer free pickup for an oil change?

Yes. Free pickup and delivery are available in Dubai. Confirm the collection address, access and timing when booking. Recovery of a vehicle that cannot safely be driven needs separate arrangements and confirmation of any charge.

Will an oil change affect my BMW warranty?

Warranty and service-plan conditions vary. Check your policy and maintenance-record requirements before booking. We use oil with the required approval and record the service, but an independent invoice does not establish coverage for every future claim.

Will fresh oil fix repeated low oil warnings?

An oil change does not repair a leak or establish the cause of oil consumption. Repeated top-ups need assessment. Follow the displayed quantity and correct approval for a top-up, and never confuse a low-level message with a low-pressure warning.
