Dubai market guide
These general market ranges cover automatic gearbox work. Confirm whether they apply to your X3’s fitted transmission and what the final quote includes.
See the gearbox price guidexDrive and transmission
Pick when it happens to see what to report and which checks can help narrow the cause.
VIN and fitted equipment
Bring your model year, VIN and mileage. That helps confirm the fitted engine, driveline and suspension before parts are priced.
Bring records of earlier driveline, suspension and cooling work.
Confirm the engine, gearbox and drive configuration by VIN before ordering parts.
Identify the fitted suspension and powertrain. Confirm the diagnostic scope separately for plug-in hybrid warnings.
Confirm the market and powertrain. The range includes the 30e xDrive plug-in hybrid and M50 xDrive in applicable markets.
Cooling and engine oil
A wet undertray can hide where the fluid escaped. Tell us where you first saw it and whether the X3 was parked, cold or warm.

A pressure test can help locate a leak at a connection, pump, housing or radiator. Ask whether the quote includes filling and retesting.
See BMW coolant leak testingOil can travel away from its source. Trace the fresh leak before pricing a filter housing seal or valve cover.
Temperature or oil pressure warning If the display tells you to stop, pull over safely, switch off and arrange assistance. Keep the coolant cap closed while hot.
Suspension, steering and brakes
Tell us whether it happens on bumps, during braking or while driving straight. That changes what needs checking first.

Record which side and when you hear it. Inspect bushes, joints, mounts and dampers for play or damage.
Check pressures, fitment and mechanical wear before adjusting geometry. Ask for the alignment readings.
Confirm the affected axle, pad and disc measurements, and sensor condition before ordering parts.
Electrical diagnosis
Share the exact warning, how long the X3 was parked and whether it started after a jump.
12-volt supply
Ask about battery condition and connections, charging output where applicable and whether a parked current-draw check is appropriate. If replacement is confirmed, check the specification and any registration required.
See 12-volt battery testingMild hybrid or plug-in hybrid
Send the VIN and exact message. On a plug-in X3, say whether it appeared while charging, during electric driving or when the petrol engine started. Confirm the workshop’s assessment scope for the fitted system before booking.
See hybrid battery assessment optionsScheduled servicing
Use the service display, invoices and the car’s condition to agree what is due.
Service display
Bring a photo of the service display and your mileage. Confirm the oil approval, fill quantity and filter. Check the brake fluid due date.
Repair history
Review invoices for filters, petrol spark plugs or applicable diesel fuel filter work. Identify the fitted gearbox and xDrive unit before pricing fluids.
Physical inspection
Measure pads, discs and tyre wear. At collection, ask which reminders were reset and which items need rechecking.
Before approving repairs
Ask for the total, expected completion date and written parts and labour terms.
Identify which component leaked and what access is needed. Compare seals, coolant, bleeding and the final leak check.
Ask which findings support repair after tyre and driveline checks. Compare fluid, hardware, setup and road verification.
Confirm the axle, side and suspension type. Check parts, hardware, labour and whether alignment is included.

Pre-purchase inspection
Ask the seller for the VIN and invoices. Request a cold start and a road test where practical.
Record warnings, unusual noise and visible leaks. Compare service history with mileage and the fitted equipment.
Note any shudder and check tyre sizes and tread condition. Ask whether recent tyre work or a driveline repair is documented.
Separate immediate repairs from upcoming service and agree which items still need testing or a fitted estimate.
Before you book
A fault-code scan and report starts from AED 150. Physical inspection, live testing and repair are agreed separately.
Tyre fitment, wear and other driveline faults can produce similar symptoms. Check when the shudder occurs and verify the cause before quoting parts.
Use the applicable service display, vehicle guidance and service history. Due work depends on the fitted engine, transmission and condition.
Send the VIN and exact message. We confirm available checks before booking. A 12-volt concern and a high-voltage warning require different assessment.
Free pickup and delivery are available for suitable vehicles in Dubai. If the car cannot be driven safely, tell us so we can confirm recovery and any separate charge.
Check your VIN with the BMW Dubai recall checker. Contact an authorised BMW dealer about recall or manufacturer warranty work.
