Retain a serviceable arm
The quote covers the correct bush and quantity, access, removal where required, pressing or fitting, and reassembly. Compare the total labour as well as the part price.
Independent BMW workshop in Al Quoz
A braking shake, suspension knock or loose feel needs the right diagnosis. We inspect the bushes and related components, then explain whether your BMW needs a separate bush, a complete arm or another repair.
Get a fitted quotation for the identified work before approval. Parts, access, quantity and alignment requirements determine the total.

Price the actual repair
A pressing charge is not the complete fitted price. Tell us your model, year and symptoms for an initial discussion. The final quote follows identification of the worn part and the work needed to reach and replace it.
The quote covers the correct bush and quantity, access, removal where required, pressing or fitting, and reassembly. Compare the total labour as well as the part price.
Suitable when a bush is not serviceable separately, the housing is damaged or other integrated parts have failed. Identify the manufacturer and exactly what the assembly includes.
Agree any inspection charge first. Request the fitted total, expected completion time, parts availability and written warranty terms. Additional faults should be explained and priced separately before you authorise extra work.
Start with the symptom
These symptoms help direct the inspection. None proves a bushing fault on its own.
Explain when it starts and whether it is felt through the steering or body. Bushes, brakes, hubs, tyres and wheels may all need consideration.
Tell us the affected corner and whether a pothole or kerb impact preceded the noise. Arm bushes, ball joints, links and mounts can sound similar.
Describe whether it happens on acceleration, lift-off or uneven roads. Rear suspension and driveline mounting faults need separate checks.
Tyre condition and pressures, suspension movement and measured geometry help establish the cause. Wear patterns alone do not identify an alignment angle.
If steering becomes loose, a wheel sits abnormally or the car feels unsafe, stop in a safe place and arrange recovery. Do not recreate the fault at speed to record it. Tell us about the condition before arranging collection.
Movement and vibration
Fluid chambers help manage vibration. A braking shake alone does not prove that a hydraulic bush has failed.
Separate an internal bush leak from oil or fluid arriving from another component. Inspect the rubber and mounting behaviour together.
Use the VIN, equipment and current repair instructions. An applicable update may specify a revised assembly or matched set.
Inspect both sides. Equal mileage alone does not justify a pair, and incompatible mount designs must not be mixed.
Two ways to repair
The condition of the arm and the way the bush is supplied determine the suitable repair.
Suitable when the bush is serviceable separately, the arm or carrier is sound and the other components can remain in use.

Suitable when the bush is integrated, the arm or housing is damaged, or another non-serviceable component on the arm has failed.

Include removal, fitting and reassembly labour. Anti-roll-bar bushes, subframe mounts and differential mounts have different access and serviceability requirements.

Start with the correct application. Material alone does not establish compatibility or performance.
Match the design, dimensions and application before selecting a brand or changing the original setup.
The manufacturer and the exact part reference on your quotation.
Designed to isolate vibration while allowing controlled movement. Where specified, the rubber flexes rather than the sleeve rotating freely.
Fitting detail Relevant pivot fasteners require tightening in the prescribed normal position.
Fluid chambers and elastomer manage vibration for a particular application. Fluid-filled bushes are not automatically interchangeable.
Parts detail Select the current specification, including any applicable revised design.
An alternative may change compliance, noise and vibration. Fitment, intended use and maintenance requirements vary.
Before converting Discuss the actual product and its trade-offs for how you use the car.
Compare genuine BMW and suitable alternatives by application and supplied specification. A material label alone is not a performance score.
Evidence before parts
Bushing movement is intentional within its design. The inspection distinguishes normal compliance from damage or excessive movement using the applicable procedure.
Assess serious looseness or impact damage before deciding whether a road test is safe. Record where and when the symptom occurs.
Inspect cracking, separation, distortion, contamination and hydraulic leakage. Support and load the relevant assembly as specified; use suitable tools without damaging boots or housings.
Check associated arms, joints, links, mounts and tyres. Surface cracks alone do not dictate replacement or monitoring; judge their severity and the component’s serviceability.
Ask to see the affected part or supporting photos where practical. The quotation should identify each failed component and distinguish required work from optional recommendations.

From part selection to final tightening
Some parts can be replaced in situ with suitable tooling. Others require removal of the arm or assembly. Access and mounting design determine the method.

The fitting method must suit the specific bush and housing.
Match the part by VIN, axle and position. Support the assembly and inspect its mounting surfaces.
Use the correct adapters, support points, orientation and insertion depth where applicable. Follow the part instructions for any permitted fitting aid.
Replace specified one-time-use fasteners. Tighten relevant bonded-rubber pivots at the prescribed normal position using the required torque and angle procedure.
Before collection
Verify fitting position, required fasteners, clearances and the condition of parts disturbed during access. Investigate any unresolved symptom.
Suspension work may require geometry checks and adjustment. This is not a universal requirement for every shifter or driveline mount. Agree whether the quote includes measurement, adjustment and a results report.
Request the fitted part details, invoice, completed checks and alignment results where measured. Confirm written parts and labour warranty duration, coverage, exclusions and how to report a concern.
Completion time depends on parts availability, access, corrosion and additional authorised work. Confirm the expected time after inspection. Free pickup and delivery in Dubai is available for suitable vehicles; unsafe cars need an agreed recovery arrangement and confirmation of any separate charge.

Compatibility
Model badges alone do not identify a bushing. Different generations, axles and equipment versions can use different arms, mount designs and part numbers.
Share your model, year and VIN privately so the correct application can be identified. A broad Series or X-model label is not a parts specification.
Identify left or right, front or rear and the exact arm or mount. Control arm, subframe, differential and manual shifter bushes are distinct jobs.
Tell us about M variants, suspension equipment, lowering, non-standard arms and previous repairs. Check applicable parts updates before ordering.
Related work
If inspection identifies another component, these pages explain the relevant work. Additional repairs should be justified and quoted separately.
Before you book
The fitted price depends on the exact bush or assembly, quantity, access and fitting labour, required fasteners and alignment work. Ask for a quote showing parts, labour, VAT and exclusions. A pressing-only price is not the complete repair cost.
Yes where it is separately serviceable and the arm, mounting bore and other components remain suitable for reuse. Compare the complete fitted cost with an arm assembly and ask what each option includes.
Inspect both sides. Replace according to their condition and the applicable repair instructions, including any requirement for matched revised assemblies. Equal mileage alone is not a sufficient reason.
No. Brakes, hubs, tyres, wheels and suspension components can produce similar symptoms. Inspection establishes the cause before parts are recommended.
Not necessarily. Establish whether the fluid came from the bush or another source. The inspection also considers damage, movement and the applicable serviceability criteria.
The answer depends on crack severity, location, separation, leakage and the component design. Surface appearance alone cannot establish that the bush is safe to retain or needs replacement.
They are an alternative for certain applications, not a universal upgrade. They can change compliance, noise and vibration, and may have specific fitting or maintenance requirements. Discuss your use and the actual product before changing designs.
No. Relevant bonded-rubber suspension pivot fasteners may need tightening at the prescribed normal position. Other mounts and bush designs have different procedures. Follow the vehicle and part-specific instructions.
Ask whether the quote includes measurement, required adjustment and a report. Requirements depend on the component replaced and the work performed; not every shifter or driveline mounting job requires suspension alignment.
Timing depends on parts supply, access, corrosion, fitting method and agreed additional work. Subframe and differential mounting jobs may involve more access work than an arm bush. Confirm timing after inspection.
Request written parts and labour warranty terms before approval, including duration, coverage, exclusions and the claim process. The terms must relate to the parts and work actually supplied.
A symptom alone cannot establish safety. If steering feels unstable, movement is severe or the wheel position looks abnormal, stop in a safe place and arrange recovery. Explain the condition before collection; reduced speed does not establish that driving is safe.
Free pickup and delivery in Dubai is available for suitable vehicles. If the car may be unsafe to drive, confirm an appropriate recovery arrangement and any separate charge first. The Al Quoz workshop is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm.
