Service due, a drivetrain warning or a noise that has changed? We inspect your 2 Series, explain the repair choices and quote the work before you approve it. Coupé, Convertible and Gran Coupé enquiries welcome.

Know the starting point
Advertised workshop starting prices come first. General component-repair budgets follow separately.
Specified oil, oil filter and service reset. Six-cylinder oil service starts from AED 450; confirm your engine and oil quantity.
Oil service with the quoted filters, brake and tyre checks, and a battery test. Ask which filters your estimate includes.
Broader maintenance covering applicable due items. Plugs, brake fluid and inspection work must be itemised for your car.
General BMW market estimates reviewed on 2 November 2026. They are budgeting guides, not fixed 2 Series offers or findings about your car.
Confirm pump, seals, coolant, labour and testing. Electric pumps need a different quote; thermostat work and overheating damage are separate.
Identify front or rear and the fitted suspension. Adaptive units, mounts, hardware and alignment require confirmation in the fitted estimate.
Define the repair, seals, fluid and fitting. This is not a complete gearbox replacement price or a price for every dual-clutch unit.
Your written fitted quote is the figure to approve. It should name the parts, labour, fluids, tests and any programming or alignment. Published prices do not confirm every inclusion, so request the complete total and exclusions before booking.
Start with the right car
The same badge can cover different engines, gearboxes and brakes. Choose the body family, then send the year and full variant.
Family MPV? See 2 Series Active Tourer servicing and repair.
M2 owner? Use the dedicated BMW M2 repair page.
BMW describes the G42 Coupé and F74 Gran Coupé separately. Market specification and production date remain important; these summaries do not establish your car’s exact fitment.
Tell us what changed
An engine light or drivetrain message can accompany several faults. A scan records the codes; the next test establishes whether a component, wiring, supply or mechanical condition is responsible.

Cold start, hot idle, acceleration or selecting reverse? Send the exact message and explain whether the problem is constant or intermittent.
Misfire data can lead to ignition, fuelling or mechanical checks. Low-voltage faults call for supply checks before condemning several control modules.
Ask what finding supports the recommendation and how the result will be tested. Clearing a code alone does not show that the cause has been repaired.
For a known leak, review oil-leak repair options. Warm cabin air needs AC testing; refrigerant service does not repair an engine-coolant leak.
Choose the system
Rough idle, power loss, burning smells and oil leaks
Delayed engagement, judder, slip and transmission warnings
Pads, discs, brake vibration and hydraulic checks
Knocks, worn joints, dampers and uneven tyre wear
Warm vents, weak airflow and refrigerant leaks
Coolant loss, water-pump and temperature-control checks
Battery fitment, condition checks and required registration
Oil, filters, due maintenance and service display
Two different jobs
A fluid service is maintenance. Slipping, persistent judder or delayed engagement requires diagnosis before deciding whether fluid work, a clutch repair, a control repair or internal work is appropriate.
Match the correct fluid, filter and procedure to the transmission. A fluid service is a maintenance decision after its condition and history are reviewed.
Fluid and filter workSlipping, persistent judder and delayed engagement can need clutch, control or internal work. Approve the confirmed repair and its fitted cost.
Repair or rebuildingMatch the procedure
Review fault data, fluid leaks, shift behaviour and the relevant operating conditions. A fluid and filter service, valve-body repair and full rebuild are distinct jobs. Any removal or dismantling charge should be agreed before opening the unit.
Judder and difficult engagement may involve clutch operation, controls, adaptation or mechanical condition. Confirm the exact gearbox and the evidence before recommending a clutch assembly or control unit. Fluid specifications and service procedures must match that unit.
For a manual car, explain pedal feel, bite point, slip and noise. Clutch hydraulics, the clutch and flywheel require different assessment. On xDrive cars, vibration may also require tyre, shaft, joint or transfer-drive checks; it does not automatically prove gearbox failure.
Tell us whether the fault appears cold or hot, in one gear or several, and whether the engine speed rises without matching acceleration. Bring any previous fluid-service invoice.
Compare the gearbox repair choices after the fitted unit has been identified. An eight-speed Coupé estimate should not be carried across to a Gran Coupé dual-clutch gearbox.
A settled drive starts with the checks
A knock over a speed bump, vibration under braking and a steering pull are different complaints. Identify the conditions first, then inspect the related components.

Check pad and disc condition, caliper movement and the relevant hydraulic or ABS concern. Confirm the fitted brake package before choosing parts.
Inspect joints, arms, bushes, mounts and dampers. Replace identified worn parts rather than assuming a complete suspension overhaul.
Check pressures, damage, wheel condition and play before alignment. Front and rear tyre sizes may differ, affecting rotation choices.
Establish which damper system is fitted. A standard damper price may not apply; related mounts and electronic checks need their own scope.
See brake repair or suspension repair for the specific work. Reduced braking or unstable handling needs prompt assessment before further driving.
Read the car before choosing a package
The next service depends on the car’s maintenance requirements, Condition Based Service information and previous work. One fixed mileage schedule cannot describe every 2 Series engine, market and production year.
Correct oil approval, quantity and filters for the engine
Match oil approval, quantity and filter to the engine. Petrol spark plugs and diesel fuel-filter requirements are different. If history is missing, agree a sensible baseline inspection and separate confirmed maintenance from repairs discovered during it.
Due dates and measured wear determine the work
Check the applicable due date and actual condition. Brake pads, discs and tyres wear with use and do not automatically need replacement with every major service. Ask which measurements or findings support additional work.
Battery specification and required vehicle setup
Slow cranking or repeated discharge needs battery, charging and connection checks. Match replacement dimensions, capacity and battery technology, then perform the vehicle’s required registration or setup. A fresh 12-volt battery is not a repair for every electrical warning.
Itemised records and the relevant completed-work reset
Keep an itemised invoice with oil and parts details, mileage and completed work. Reset only the relevant maintenance item after it is completed. Ask what record can be provided; do not assume an independent invoice automatically updates every BMW digital history system.
For the F23 Convertible
A roof that stops moving, wind noise at the glass and damp carpet need different checks. Describe where the water appears, whether the roof latches and any message shown on the dash.
F23Check glass position, seals, roof alignment and the latching concern. Do not force a partly open roof or repeatedly operate a mechanism that is binding.
Depending on the symptom, assessment may involve water tracing, drains, switches, wiring or the roof mechanism. Confirm specialist equipment and parts availability for the identified repair.
Agree the relevant operation or water test and any limits. Trim removal, drying a wet cabin and repairing affected electronics may be additional work.
A Coupé sunroof is a different assembly from an F23 folding fabric roof. Send a photo so the enquiry reaches the right repair assessment.
Know what you are approving
The lowest parts price is only one part of the bill. Compare compatibility, the complete fitted work and the warranty stated for that particular repair.
Ask for the part number and what the supplied assembly includes. A complete cover, pump assembly or control unit may include items that are absent from a cheaper individual component.
Confirm whether seals, bolts, fluids or setup are additional. Manufacturer packaging does not by itself establish that a part fits your production date or optional equipment.
An appropriate OEM option may offer another repair budget. Compare the actual manufacturer, specification and warranty rather than relying on the letters alone.
If repair of the existing unit is proposed, ask what is being repaired, how it will be tested and what the written warranty covers. Used assemblies need their own condition, compatibility and return terms.
Brand, part numbers and the assembly or components supplied.
Labour, fluids, seals and necessary associated work.
Applicable coding, registration, alignment and final tests.
price, exclusions and written warranty conditions.
We are an independent workshop. Check active manufacturer warranty, recalls or service-package entitlement with the authorised network before arranging work that may belong under that cover.
Before buying a used 2 Series
A service stamp and a clean dashboard leave important questions unanswered. A pre-purchase inspection helps you understand visible condition, current faults and likely work before negotiating.
Ask about a BMW pre-purchase inspection and agree the scope with the seller before the visit.
Starting, idle, noises, leaks and gear changes under the agreed test conditions.
Wear, damage, leaks, tyre condition and signs of previous repair.
Warning history, charging condition and operation of the car’s fitted features.
Glass, moisture and roof operation where a Convertible is being inspected.
Tell us about modifications, imports or missing records. Inspection findings describe the accessible car at the time; hidden damage or a future intermittent fault cannot be ruled out completely. Additional dismantling needs separate agreement.
From first message to handover
Contact our Al Quoz workshop with the body style, year, mileage and the work you need. A warning photo or an existing recording helps us plan the assessment.
Mention the symptom, when it happens and recent repairs. You can start the enquiry without knowing the chassis code.
Agree the assessment charge, appointment and pickup arrangements. Free Dubai pickup and delivery is available; tell us if recovery is needed.
Review the findings, parts choices, fitted total and estimated completion time. Parts availability or further investigation can change the timing.
Check the completed work, relevant tests, invoice and any remaining recommendations. Confirm written warranty terms for the agreed repair.
Before you book
Need a price for a specific fault? Send the warning message and your model details, or call to discuss the next check.
Advertised prices start at AED 350 for oil service, AED 650 for minor service and AED 1,500 for major service. Six-cylinder oil service starts at AED 450. Confirm the engine, due items, parts and fitted total before booking.
Contact us with the full variant, body style and year. Coupé and Gran Coupé models can use different engines, gearboxes and brakes despite similar badges. The VIN may be needed to confirm compatible parts and the correct procedure.
Timing depends on the agreed job, access, testing and parts availability. Ask for an estimate with your quotation. A routine oil service and a gearbox repair need different allowances; a message enquiry does not confirm a same-day slot.
Follow the displayed instruction and describe any symptoms to the workshop. Stop safely for severe shaking, smoke, major power loss, overheating, an oil-pressure warning or compromised braking. Arrange assistance when the car cannot be driven safely.
It depends on the cause. Fluid maintenance does not repair every clutch, control or internal fault. Identify the fitted gearbox and assess the shift complaint before deciding between servicing and repair.
Free pickup and delivery is advertised across Dubai. Confirm the collection slot and tell us if the vehicle needs recovery, which may involve separate arrangements or charges. Repair work is quoted for approval after the assessment; additional tests or dismantling should also be agreed.
