Local repair
For suitable surface scuffs, colour wear or limited damage. Ask whether preparation, colour matching and protective finish are included.
Cracked bolsters, torn leather, faded colour or a seat that has lost its shape. We repair, recolour and reupholster BMW seats so the cabin looks and feels right again.

The repair area, upholstery material and condition determine the price. Photos help us suggest an initial option. An inspection confirms the work and written total before you approve it.
For suitable surface scuffs, colour wear or limited damage. Ask whether preparation, colour matching and protective finish are included.
Specify the damaged panel or seat, replacement material, stitching and foam work. Removal and refitting must be stated in the quote.
Seat movement, heating, ventilation and restraint faults need separate assessment. Confirm the diagnostic fee and component price before ordering.
Confirm the quoted unit, material supply, labour, removal and refitting, VAT treatment, any diagnostic charge and completion time. We do not present another workshop’s prices as our own.
What is wrong with your seat?
Pick the damage that looks like yours. Most BMW seat problems fall into one of these five, and each has its own repair. Send a photo for an initial assessment, then confirm the repair after inspection. Many seats have two or three of these at once, and they can often be repaired together in one visit, which saves time and keeps the finish even across the whole seat.

Fine cracks usually start on the outer bolster of the driver seat, where you slide in and out every day. Abrasion, contamination and ageing can damage the surface finish.

A split seam or a tear across a panel often comes from keys in a pocket, a sharp object or old stitching giving way under load.

Seats near the windows lose colour in the Dubai sun, and dark leather turns grey or patchy, especially on the rear bench and top of the backrest.

Small burns, ink and dye transfer from jeans show clearly on light leather such as cream or white seats.

After years of use, the foam under the cover collapses. The seat feels low, the bolster loses support and the leather starts to wrinkle.
Three levels of repair
We always start with the smallest repair that will last. Here is how the three levels compare, so you know what to expect before you send a photo.
For cracks, scuffs, small tears, stains and faded colour. The original leather stays on the seat.
For damaged panels that need replacement material. Colour, grain, sheen, perforation and stitching are matched as closely as the available material permits.
For material or structural damage that cannot be repaired appropriately. Electrical faults are diagnosed separately before considering a complete seat.
How leather wears
Many coated BMW leather upholstery surfaces have several layers. Knowing which layer is damaged tells us whether a seat can be repaired or needs new leather. This is why we look closely at the seat before giving a final price, instead of guessing from the colour alone.
A surface coating used on many automotive leathers. The finish and suitable treatment depend on the material fitted.
The pigment that gives the seat its colour. Some surface colour wear can be refinished if the material beneath remains suitable.
When cracks reach the hide itself, filling helps, but deep splits need a new panel.
Foam gives shape and support. When it collapses, the leather on top wrinkles and cracks faster.
Send an overall seat photo, a close-up of the damage, the adjacent upholstery, model and year. Tell us about warnings, previous repairs and the result you want.
Identify the upholstery and inspect seams, foam and mechanisms. Confirm the repair area, matching limitations, parts, total and estimated completion time before approval.
Use local surface treatment only where the material is sound. Consider a replacement panel when the substrate has failed. Airbag seams and safety-related components follow separate procedures.
Where removal is needed, follow the vehicle repair instructions. Complete the relevant functional and diagnostic checks, then explain curing, cleaning and any written warranty conditions.
A belt that will not latch, damaged webbing, a loose seat or a restraint warning needs assessment before the affected seating position is used. Arrange advice or recovery if the driver cannot be safely restrained.
Inspect the belt assembly, latch, anchorage and wiring as applicable. Damaged webbing and deployed pyrotechnic components require replacement according to the vehicle repair instructions. Do not bypass warning systems.
Inspection is not limited to visibly deployed parts. The affected restraint components and seat structure must be assessed under the model-specific repair procedure.
Integrated side airbags and their deployment seams require compatible covers and approved procedures. Ordinary stitching or a generic cover is not an acceptable substitute.
BMW seat-belt replacement and BMW airbag replacement are separate services. Check the owner’s manual for your BMW for vehicle-specific warnings.
An electrical fault does not automatically mean the complete seat needs replacing. The equipment fitted to your vehicle determines the checks and available parts.
Check power supply, switches, wiring, mechanisms and control functions before selecting a motor, gear, module or complete assembly. A twisted or insecure seat also needs a structural inspection.
Loss of heat or airflow can have several causes. Test the relevant supply, controls, wiring, heating element or fan before quoting replacement. Preserve perforation and heater compatibility during retrimming.
Read the faults and follow the applicable diagnostic procedure. An extinguished warning lamp alone does not prove a safe repair. Complete required functional checks and calibration or coding where specified.
Worth knowing
A brand new BMW seat cover or a full seat from the dealer can cost far more than most owners expect. Compare an itemised repair quotation with a compatible replacement before deciding.
BMW interiors
BMW has used several leather and leather look finishes over the years. Each one ages differently in the heat, so we match the repair to the material in your car. We also repair fabric seats and Alcantara inserts, which need their own cleaning and repair methods.
A tough, slightly textured leather found on many 3, 5 and X models. Hard wearing but cracks on the bolster with age.
Used on newer BMWs with a soft grain and quilted designs on some models. Needs gentle cleaning products.
A very soft full grain leather on M cars and higher trims. Shows wear and dye transfer easily on light colours.
A synthetic finish that looks like leather. It does not dry out the same way, but can split at seams and tear.
Use vehicle specification and inspection to distinguish genuine leather, Sensatec, Veganza, fabric and Alcantara. Similar-looking surfaces can need different products.
Vacuum loose grit gently and follow the vehicle and product instructions. Test an inconspicuous area. Do not apply a universal conditioner schedule to every upholstery type.
Reduce direct sun exposure where practical and address spills promptly with suitable methods. Follow the repairer’s curing and aftercare instructions before cleaning or covering a repaired seat.
Models
From older E series saloons to the latest X models and M cars. Standard seats, sport seats and M seats all have different shapes, so we work to the exact seat in your car.
Sport seat bolsters that crack from daily getting in and out, plus worn side panels on cars used every day in city traffic.
Comfort seats with more motors, heating, cooling and massage functions, and large leather areas that fade in the sun.
Higher seats where the outer bolster takes the most wear, and third row seats that get scuffed by bags and children.
M seats and carbon bucket seats require assessment of the exact construction, upholstery and permitted repair options.
The price depends on the damaged area, material, finish and access. Send photos for an initial estimate. Confirm an inspected quotation showing the repair unit, materials, labour, refitting, VAT treatment and any separate diagnostic fee.
Surface wear may suit local refinishing when the underlying material is sound. Deep splitting, brittle material or failed seams may require panel replacement. Inspection determines the option.
We assess the existing colour, grain, sheen, perforation and stitching. Ageing and material availability can prevent an exact match. Agree the expected finish before work begins.
A single panel may be replaceable if the surrounding cover is suitable. Integrated airbag seams and other safety-related features must follow the applicable repair procedure.
Timing depends on the repair area, material availability, access and product curing. Confirm the completion estimate after inspection rather than assuming every repair is a same-day job.
Seat removal and refitting must follow the vehicle repair instructions. Required diagnostics, functional checks and any specified calibration or coding form part of the relevant job. Do not bypass occupancy or restraint systems.
The cause may involve power supply, controls, wiring or a mechanism. Assessment identifies whether a component can be repaired or replaced without replacing the complete seat.
Tell us the model and year and send photos. Sensatec, Veganza, fabric and Alcantara require material-specific assessment. Confirm the available repair method and finish before booking.
Follow the stated curing period and use products compatible with the repaired material. Ask about use restrictions, cleaning and the precise coverage of any written warranty.
